ABOUT HILLSBORO CLASSR0OM
The Hillsboro Classroom is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to provide a setting so that artisans can share their special skills with aspiring artisans who want to learn their crafts. Basket weaving, pottery, quilting techniques, acrylic painting, knitting, crochet, creative writing, fabric baskets, jewelry making, and flower arranging are but a few of the classes that have been and will continue to be offered. Please note that some classes, depending on the size and special needs of the class, will be offered in the community room of the Hillsboro Library at 54 3rd Street in Hillsboro, West Virginia, as well as the community room of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church at 7665 Seneca Trail in Hillsboro West Virginia.
Classes are small and allow for individual attention for each student in learning their new skill. Each class is designed to give students a solid foundation and time to create a finished project to take home.
All registrations are online by clicking on the class of your choice.
BECOME AN INSTRUCTOR!
The Hillsboro Classroom is seeking instructors to teach “classes for the arts of life.” This can include visual arts, crafts of any kind, yoga, herbal medicine, cooking, gardening, and the list is endless.
Join us as we aim to preserve handmade crafts such as quilting, weaving, pottery, furniture-making, basket weaving, and painting by educating the next generation of artisans.
The Hillsboro Classroom will register students, collect tuition, provide the classroom space, advertise in the Pocahontas Times, and pay a fee, determined by the instructor, to each instructor. Multiple instructors for one course will split this fee.
